Vive La Revolution

bastille day french flags

On July 14, 1789, the Bastille, an impenetrable symbol of the Royal authority in France, was overtaken, marking a major turning point in The French Revolution. Now, the 14th of July is a national holiday, and there are Bastille Day celebrations that occur all over the world. On July 13, the Official Committee of French-American Organizations of Northern California will be putting on a Bastille Day Celebration at the Embarcadero Plaza. This exciting celebration will take place only about 20 minutes from the Alpine Inn & Suites. Bastille Day SF is a free event that runs from 10 am until 7 pm. All day long, there will be delicious French food, plenty of live entertainment, and, of course, wine. This Bastille Day event is fun for the whole family, with kids activities available too. There will even be walking tours of San Francisco’s French Quarter! Whether you have French ancestry or you just enjoy the food and wine, Bastille Day SF is the perfect outdoor event for you.
